The People's Agenda
A Commitment to a Different Kind of Leadership
Not leadership built around slogans. Not promises without a plan. And not a government that disappears after Election Day.
Listen. Act. Measure. Report.
We listen to the people we represent. We turn priorities into practical action. We measure whether that action is working. And we report back to the public. Because government works best when people are heard, and leaders are accountable.
The Platform
Seven Pillars. One People's Agenda.
The People's Agenda is organized around seven pillars that provide a practical framework for governing.
01 Economic Opportunity & Financial Security Every family should have a fair opportunity to build financial stability and pursue a better future.
The focus is on making it easier for working families to afford everyday life, pursue economic opportunity, build financial security, and participate fully in the economy.
π― What we will do
- Job creation across the district
- Fast-track licensing for small businesses
- Federal workforce defense pipelines
The goal · Create opportunity. Strengthen families. Build economic security.
02 Educational Excellence & Workforce Development Education is one of the most important investments we can make in our children and our future.
Every student should have the opportunity to succeed, while young people and workers should have pathways to the skills and opportunities needed for the economy of tomorrow.
π― What we will do
- Early literacy and math intervention benchmarks
- Apprenticeship and skills pathways
- MCPS performance accountability
The goal · Prepare students. Strengthen workers. Build the workforce of the future.
03 Affordable Communities & Responsible Growth Communities should be places where families can afford to live, businesses can grow, and infrastructure keeps pace with development.
We need to expand housing opportunity, support responsible growth, and make sure transportation, utilities, schools and other infrastructure are considered as communities grow.
π― What we will do
- Housing production pipelines
- Infrastructure-first sequencing
- Transit-oriented development
The goal · Build responsibly. Expand opportunity. Keep infrastructure ahead of growth.
04 Accessible Healthcare & Healthy Communities Access to healthcare should not become an impossible burden for families.
The People's Agenda supports efforts toward healthcare that is accessible and affordable, while recognising that healthier communities also depend on prevention, strong families, safe environments and community resources.
π― What we will do
- Expanded mental health integration
- Preventive care access
- Community wellness programs
The goal · Improve access. Strengthen families. Build healthier communities.
05 Safe, Inclusive & Resilient Communities Every person deserves to feel safe, respected and included in the community they call home.
Public safety must be supported by trust, preparedness, effective institutions, and meaningful relationships between communities and those responsible for protecting them.
π― What we will do
- Data-driven public safety
- Crisis response teams
- Language access across public services
- Ending non-community enforcement agreements
The goal · Protect people. Build trust. Strengthen community resilience.
06 Transparent, Accountable & Effective Government Government belongs to the people.
Residents should be able to understand how decisions are made, how public resources are used, and whether government is delivering the results it promised. Transparency should not be treated as an option. Accountability should not begin only when something goes wrong.
π― What we will do
- Outcome-based budgeting
- Open-data spending platforms
- Public performance dashboards
The goal · Open government. Responsible decisions. Measurable results.
07 Fiscal Responsibility & a Stronger Future Every public dollar represents someone's work, contribution or sacrifice.
Government must spend responsibly, protect taxpayers, invest in priorities, and plan beyond the next budget cycle. Fiscal responsibility is not simply about spending less. It is about making sure public resources produce public value.
π― What we will do
- Spend responsibly and protect taxpayers
- Invest in the district's stated priorities
- Plan beyond the next budget cycle
The goal · Protect taxpayers. Invest wisely. Build long-term financial stability.
From promises to action
The First 100 Days
The first 100 days should establish how we intend to govern. Not through a rushed list of promises, but through listening, building relationships, establishing priorities, taking action, and creating a culture of accountability.
-
Days 1-30
Listen & Learn
The first responsibility of leadership is to listen.
- Meet with constituents and community leaders
- Hold listening sessions across the district
- Meet with local governments and civic organizations
- Identify urgent priorities
- Establish transparent constituent engagement
Understand before acting.
-
Days 31-60
Build & Act
Once we listen, we begin turning priorities into action.
- Develop legislative priorities around the Seven Pillars
- Build bipartisan and community partnerships
- Identify federal resources that can benefit the district
- Begin advancing priority legislation and policy initiatives
- Establish measurable objectives
Turn priorities into action.
-
Days 61-100
Deliver & Report
Accountability begins with communication.
- Publish progress on commitments
- Report publicly on legislative and constituent work
- Identify what is working and what needs improvement
- Establish ongoing public accountability
Show the people what is being accomplished.
“Leadership is not measured by titles or elections. It is measured by trust, execution, and the positive difference we make in people's lives.”
